Mary Charman-Smith was born in Worthing, West Sussex and has continued to live in this area all her life. As a child she wrote poems and some of these were included in children’s anthologies. Her interest in poetry was later rekindled when she went to university as a mature student. Since then, she has had many poems published in magazines and newspapers, but this is the first time they have appeared together as a collection. Many of Mary’s poems are about animals and the natural world, especially the English coastline around the area where she lives.
