First and foremost it means meeting like-minded people who all have the same love in life - writing. There will be a blend of published authors and hobby writers, all such diverse characters who will help to develop your skills.

We may not be experts or professionals in our field, but joining the Scribblers will help boost confidence in your own ability.

There are opportunities to expand your creative writing skills with regular homework assignments that you will be able to read out at the following meeting for feedback and supportive comment.

From time to time the Scribblers will embark on a special project or answer a writing challenge so there will always be something to maintain interest.

Details of national writing competitions are often available, and these have led to success for some of our writers.

The answer is, of course, no. Our members have varying degrees of experience. Some have had an idea in mind and wanted to know how to write it down, others may already have been published.

Neither is age a factor. Our youngest member is 16 years old and attends meetings regularly. At the other end of the spectrum, our eldest member is in her seventies still manages most meetings. In between is a cross section of ages that will help you feel at home.

There is no onus on the number of meetings you attend - you may come along to as many, or as few, as you wish. You will always be welcome.
