About Leaf Books

Leaf Books publishes seriously impressive short fiction and poetry by new and established authors. We've published individual short stories and compilations of poetry and microfiction in both A6 sized formats, small enough to fit into a pocket, and conventional A5 anthologies.

We rather like to produce accessible reads in bite-sized portions: ideal for arbitary amusement amusement on slow-running trains and in fiction-free corners of coffee shops. Our increasingly vast output is drawn from competition entries and ranges from engagingly literary drama and racy romantic fiction to surreal children's humour and broken-hearted verse.

Each book we produce has a colourful, simple design and can be made into hats for animals if you’re mean enough to ruin them. Each one can be easily read in one sitting. Or one bathing. Or standing at the bus-stop if you want to be sensible about it.

Leaf books are currently available in selected coffee shops, tea rooms, cafes, galleries hotel bars and gift shops. The books are also on sale through this website and Amazon.co.uk.

We sincerely believe there is hole in the contemporary literary market that requires some clever words to fill. Our professional aims are thus: to support and nurture short stories and poetry and to make Leaf as widely available as possible. In doing so we can only hope to make short story writers feel proud and resourceful by giving each published author, established or otherwise, a platform for their own works.

Leaf Books themselves live in South Wales, next to a tree or twelve, and some train tracks.
